Kick Off the Holiday Season in Style

After a five-year hiatus, the state banquet is returning in a big way. And I’d like nothing more than you to join me in celebrating with a fun-filled evening Nov. 16th at the Wingspan Event Center in Hillsboro. It will be a time to see old friends, make new ones and raise money for fish-related causes that are important to all Oregonians.

Along with our keynote speaker, Ian Courter of Mount Hood Environmental, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Debbie Colbert, the new director for the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife.

The evening starts with drinks and hors d’oeuvres when the doors open at 4:30 p.m. Before dinner begins at 6 p.m. you’re encouraged to mingle with friends, consider what items in the live and silent auctions look most appealing but most importantly enjoy yourself.

The live auction has some great packages including a guided fishing trip to Langara Island in British Columbia, weekend getaways to Central Oregon and the San Juan Islands. These are just a few. The silent auction is loaded with great gift ideas for the holidays. We’ve made it a point to think outside the box with our auction packages as well as our raffle items. Yes, there will be plenty of fishing-related events, but this year’s fundraiser will include plenty for of great items that don’t involve a rod and reel.

I’m also excited to introduce our latest endeavor: the newly formed Habitat Committee. This is our opportunity to further cement CCA Oregon’s legacy as the most influential conservation group in the state. Let’s make it happen! Please do me a favor and help kick off the holiday season by attending the state banquet. After all, it’s been too long since we’ve seen each other.

Thank you.
